Jalghoza pine nuts are extra-large and elongated, with an intense, creamy, buttery and floral flavour. They come from Jalghoza pine trees in the Hindu Kush mountains of Afghanistan and are considered among the most exclusive pine nuts in the world.
They are harvested, processed and shelled by hand, providing work and income for many Afghan families. They are sorted and packaged at Ziba Foods by Afghan women, many of whom are single mothers. Read more of their stories here .
